General teaching resources

• Bioinformatics lecture notes. Lecture notes for undergraduate and graduate courses on bioinformatics. An earlier version that contains some material not yet moved to Gitbook is here.
• Primer on genome assembly. A quick start to learn what genome assembly is all about.
• Assembly games. You can try your hand at genome assembly by putting together various English sentences from their fragments. Hopefully this will make you appreciate the complexity of assembly. A video showing how we used these games to introduce the general public to genome assembly is available here.
• Various bioinformatics tutorials. Starting to summarize some tutorials on topics that I find to be under-appreciated or mis-understood by non-bioinformaticians.
